Every year, the same question arrives in Singapore households around late April: what are we actually going to do with the kids during the June school holidays? The days fill up faster than expected if you do not plan ahead — and the best activities, especially anything outdoors and genuinely different, book out weeks in advance.
If you are looking for something that feels like a real experience rather than another indoor mall visit, wake surfing and wakeboarding at Marina Country Club is worth serious consideration. Here is everything you need to know about booking a session with Absolute Beach Boys for the June 2026 school holidays.
When Are the June School Holidays in Singapore 2026?
The June school holidays for MOE schools run from 30 May to 28 June 2026. International school summer holidays typically begin from late June through August. That gives families a solid four-week window — plenty of time to book a morning session on the water without feeling rushed.
Why Wake Surfing Works So Well as a School Holiday Activity
Wake surfing is one of those activities that sounds impressive but is genuinely accessible for beginners — including children. Here is why it works so well for the June holidays specifically:
- Children learn faster than adults. Kids from age 8 tend to pick up wake surfing quicker than grown-ups — lower centre of gravity, no fear, and a natural instinct for balance. Most children are riding rope-free within a single 2-hour session.
- It is a private charter — your family only. Unlike group activities at public venues, the Absolute Beach Boys 23ft MasterCraft is booked exclusively for your group. Up to 6 passengers. No strangers, no waiting, no shared equipment.
- Parents are on the boat throughout. This is not a drop-off class. Mums and dads come on board, watch every run, take photos, cheer, and join in themselves when the kids are resting between turns.
- Both sports in one session. Wake surfing and wakeboarding are available in the same booking. Switch between them during the session — younger children tend to prefer wake surfing while older kids and parents often want to try wakeboarding.
- Done by 10:30am. A 7:00am start means the family is back at the pier by 9:00am or 10:30am — the whole rest of the day is still free. No activity in Singapore packs more into a morning.
What to Expect on the Day
Meet Wilson Teo at Pier #5, Marina Country Club at your booked time. Life jackets are fitted before departure — all sizes available including children’s. Wilson runs a quick safety briefing while the boat is being prepared, then you cast off into the sheltered Singapore waters off Punggol.
Each rider takes turns on the water while the rest of the family watches from the shaded deck. Wilson coaches every rider individually via the microphone system — real-time instructions while you are actually on the board, not just a briefing beforehand. Most children are standing on the board within their first 20–30 minutes. Dropping the rope and surfing hands-free — the real magic moment — typically happens within the same 2-hour session for most riders aged 8 and above.
Booking for June School Holidays — Do It Now
Weekend and morning slots during the June school holidays fill 3–4 weeks in advance. With the holidays starting 30 May, the booking window is open right now. Weekday sessions during the school holidays are also a great option — Tuesday and Wednesday mornings tend to have calmer water and more flexibility on timing.
Session pricing for families:
- 2 hours — S$380 for the private boat (up to 6 pax = S$63/person)
- 3 hours — S$570 for the private boat (up to 6 pax = S$95/person)
- 4 hours — S$760 for the private boat (up to 6 pax = S$127/person)
All pricing covers the private boat, Wilson’s coaching, all equipment, life jackets, and complimentary water. Nothing extra to hire or bring.
If your family plans to come back more than once across the school holidays — which most do once the kids experience it — the Starter Pack (10 hours, S$1,750) works out significantly cheaper per hour and is valid for 6 months.
Fur Kids Welcome Too
If the June holiday plan includes the family dog, bring them along. Absolute Beach Boys is one of the only water sports operators in Singapore that welcomes dogs on board. Just mention your fur kid when you book and Wilson will make sure everyone — two-legged and four-legged — has a great session.
