Let’s be honest — most dogs would choose a boat trip over a park walk any day of the week. The open water, the wind, the smells, the general chaos of their human falling into the sea repeatedly — it is basically paradise for them.
At Absolute Beach Boys, we run private charter sessions. That means the boat is exclusively yours, your group, and yes, your dog. No strangers, no shared space, no one giving you the side-eye for bringing a Shiba Inu. Just you, your crew, and your four-legged first mate cruising the waters off Marina Country Club, Singapore.
We have had golden retrievers who immediately claimed the bow as their throne. We have had tiny chihuahuas who watched the whole session with the energy of a very focused sports coach. And we have had dogs who simply curled up, fell asleep to the hum of the engine, and woke up when the water bottles came out. Every dog makes the boat better.

We love dogs. We also take safety seriously. Here is everything to keep your fur kid safe and happy on the water.
Is your dog water confident?
Our sessions take place on open water. Your dog does not need to be a strong swimmer — most are happy watching from the boat — but they should be comfortable around water and not in a panic around waves and engine sounds. If your dog freaks out in the bath, the boat might be a big jump. If they love the beach? They will thrive.
Watch the heat — Singapore is HOT
Singapore's sun is no joke. Book morning slots (7–9am) or late afternoon (4–6pm) if you are bringing your dog. Midday sun on a boat deck can get extremely warm for paws and fur. Bring a small mat or towel for them to lie on, and never leave them in direct sun without shade for extended periods.
Keep them leashed while boarding
The pier area at Marina Country Club can be busy. Keep your dog on a leash from the car to the boat. Once on board, you can let them settle freely — the boat is fully enclosed with sides so there is no risk of them jumping off unexpectedly. They will find their spot, trust us.
What to Pack for Your Dog
A short packing list so your fur kid is as prepared as you are.
Fresh water — bring more than you think
Dogs dehydrate fast in Singapore's heat. Bring at least 500ml–1L of fresh water per hour of session time. A collapsible bowl is easier to pack than a full bowl.
Snacks and treats
Familiar snacks help dogs feel calm in new environments. A few treats go a long way toward making the boat feel like a safe, happy place — especially on their first session.
A small mat or towel
Something familiar to lie on makes the boat feel like their own territory. It also protects paws from a warm deck surface during peak sun hours.
A leash for boarding and alighting
Required at the pier. Once on board you can relax — the boat is secure. But leash on for the walk from parking to the boat and back again.
Poop bags — obviously
We love dogs. We love the ocean more. Bring bags, take everything off the boat. We are all in this together.
A calm first-time attitude
If this is your dog's first time on a boat, give them time to sniff and explore before the engine starts. Dogs take their emotional cues from you — if you are relaxed and excited, they will be too.
The Honest Bit — Is Every Dog Suitable?
Most dogs take to the boat immediately — the fresh air, the novelty, the snacks. But there are a few situations where we would suggest leaving your dog at home for the first session and building up to the boat experience gradually.
Give it a miss if your dog gets severe anxiety in moving vehicles, if they are prone to overheating quickly, if they are very elderly and find new environments stressful, or if they have a medical condition that your vet advises keeps them away from heat and exertion.

Is there an extra charge to bring my dog on a wake surfing session?
No extra charge at all. Your dog rides for free. All we ask is that you bring their water, snacks, and a clean-up bag — we take care of the rest.
What breeds of dogs have come on board before?
All sorts — golden retrievers, labradors, shiba inus, French bulldogs, toy poodles, mixed breeds. There is no size or breed restriction. The main thing is that your dog is relaxed around water and noise, not that they fit a certain profile.
What if my dog falls into the water?
We stop the boat immediately. Most dogs are good swimmers and enjoy a brief dip — but we never leave any passenger (two-legged or four) in the water. The session pauses, your dog gets back on board, and we carry on. It has happened before. Everyone survived. Some dogs immediately want to do it again.
Can my dog wear a life jacket?
Absolutely — we encourage it for dogs who are not strong swimmers or who are older. We do not have dog life jackets on board so bring your own if you want your dog wearing one. A well-fitted canine life jacket is a great idea, especially for brachycephalic breeds like French bulldogs who tire in water quickly.
Do I need to tell you in advance that I am bringing my dog?
Yes please — just mention it when you book or drop us a WhatsApp. Not because there are any restrictions, but because we like to know who is joining the session so we can make sure everyone has the best time possible. The more the merrier — fur kids included.
